Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/William I of Orange
Self nomination. Jeronimo 17:26, 3 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Support: A brilliant article. Just a question: I have read elsewhere that William lost his ability to speak in the assassination attempt of 1582. Is this true? If so, it should be mentioned. (On the other hand, this may just be a myth based on his nickname "William the Silent"). -- Emsworth 17:49, 3 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Thanks! As far as I know, he didn't lose his ability to speak permanently, but I know he was shot in jaw in 1582, so he may have been temporarily unable to speak. I'll look into it. Jeronimo 18:12, 3 Oct 2004 (UTC)
:: - Haven't been able to find anything so far. I'll thus leave it out until someone can confirm it. Jeronimo 06:21, 6 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Labedz Coat of Arms
Labedz Coat of Arms was proposed for deletion. This page is an archive of the discussion about the proposed deletion. This page is no longer live. Further comments should be made on the article's talk page rather than here so that this page is preserved as an historic record. The result of the debate was to keep the article.
Another apparently lost/orphaned VfD nom, as the tag was added Oct 13, but there is no record of a voting page. This is a procedural nomination. I abstain.

Zig Zag, New South Wales
The zigzag is a type of railway construction designed to negotiate very abrupt ascents. The lines are laid in the form of one or more Zs with reversing points where the line doubles back to enable the train to reverse its direction.
The original plan had been to build a 3km tunnel, but this was beyond the resources of the state of New South Wales at the time. The Zig Zag alternative still required several short tunnels and some viaducts.
